These Terms of Use govern your use of Commversar. By using our platform, you agree to these terms.
Commversar is a classifieds platform connecting buyers and sellers around university campuses and their surrounding areas in Kenya. We provide the marketplace space only.
Our Role
We Are a Platform
- •We provide space for sellers to list products and services.
- •We connect sellers with buyers.
- •We facilitate communication between parties.
We Do NOT:
- •Process payments.
- •Handle deliveries.
- •Take responsibility for transactions between buyers and sellers.
- •Guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of items listed.
- •Verify the accuracy of product descriptions.
Who Can Use Commversar
Buyers
- •Anyone can browse and use the platform.
- •No registration required.
- •Users under 18 should seek parental guidance before making transactions.
Sellers
- •Must register an account to list items.
- •Civilian users verifying with National ID must be 18 years or older.
- •Must provide accurate information during registration.
- •Cannot change name and gender after registration.
Verification
Verification is optional but highly encouraged for sellers. You can verify using:
- •Student ID (preferred)
- •National ID (for civilians or students without Student ID)
Benefits:
- •Display a "verified" badge
- •Increase buyer trust
- •Ensure fair use of the platform
Buyers are warned about transacting with unverified merchants. We recommend prioritizing verified sellers.
Transactions and Payments
Buyer Responsibility
- •Verify product details before purchasing.
- •We highly encourage sending payment only after confirming delivery.
- •Resolve disputes directly with sellers.
- •We are not liable for transaction mishaps, fraud, or misrepresentation.
Seller Responsibility
- •Provide accurate product descriptions and images.
- •Communicate with buyers.
- •Fulfill orders as agreed and handle delivery.
- •We are not liable if buyers don't complete purchases or if disputes arise.
Payment Guidelines
Commversar does not process payments. All arrangements are made directly between buyers and sellers. We recommend:
- •Meeting in safe, public locations.
- •Inspecting items before payment.
- •Using secure payment methods and being cautious with unverified sellers.
Community Standards
We maintain a healthy, trustworthy community. Help us by reporting fraud, fake items, or misleading information using the "Flag" option.
We review all reports and take appropriate action, including removing listings and warning or suspending merchants.
Prohibited Activities:
- •Listing illegal items or services
- •Posting false or misleading information
- •Impersonating others
- •Harassing or threatening users
- •Manipulating reviews or ratings
- •Spamming or excessive posting
Account Management
For Sellers
- •Provide accurate information when registering.
- •Name and gender cannot be changed after registration (contact support for help).
- •Maintain account security and notify us of unauthorized access.
Account Deletion: You can delete your account anytime by going to Account Center > Account Deletion. For assistance, contact [email protected] .
Content and Intellectual Property
- •You retain ownership of content you post.
- •By posting, you grant us a license to display it on our platform.
- •Do not post content that infringes on others' rights.
Our Liability
Commversar is NOT liable for:
- •Transactions between buyers and sellers
- •Quality, safety, legality, or accuracy of listings
- •Actions or conduct of users
- •Loss, damage, or disputes arising from transactions
- •Fraud, misrepresentation, or non-delivery
You use Commversar at your own risk. We encourage all users to resolve any disputes amicably through direct communication.
Data Protection
Your privacy is important. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we handle your information in accordance with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.
Platform Rights
We reserve the right to:
- •Suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
- •Remove listings that violate our policies.
- •Refuse service when necessary.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use means you accept the new terms.
