Every merchant is verified in person. We're not liable for merchant conduct or listing accuracy, except where an issue is caused by our own payment processing or delivery service.
About This Platform
These Terms of Use govern your use of Commversar as a buyer. By using our platform, you agree to these terms.
Commversar is a buyer platform connecting buyers with merchants around university campuses and their surrounding areas in Kenya. Merchant registration, listing, and account management are governed separately by the Merchant Terms of Use on the merchant platform.
These Terms work alongside our other buyer policies: the Buyer Protection Policy covers how payments are held and protected, the Shipping and Returns Policy and Refunds Policy cover delivery and returns, and the Privacy Policy covers how we handle your data.
Our Role
We Are a Platform
- •We provide space for buyers to browse and purchase products and services from merchants.
- •We connect buyers with merchants.
- •We facilitate communication between buyers and merchants.
- •We process payments for purchases made through the platform. See our Buyer Protection Policy for how your payment is held and protected.
- •We handle delivery for our own listed products, and for orders from merchants who have opted into our delivery service. See our Shipping and Returns Policy for delivery and returns.
We Do NOT
- •Take responsibility for transaction issues that fall outside the payment processing and delivery services we provide.
- •Guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of items listed.
- •Verify the accuracy of product descriptions.
Who Can Use Commversar
- •Anyone can browse the platform. No registration is required to browse.
- •Registration is required to make a purchase.
- •We recommend buyers under 18 seek parental guidance before making transactions.
Merchant Verification
Every merchant on Commversar is verified in person before they can list products or services.
We do not display "verified" badges. The only badge shown on the platform is the Official Store badge, reserved for our official stores.
Transactions and Payments
Verify product details before purchasing. If there's an issue with a merchant or listing, use the "Report" option (Section 6). Where Commversar is not handling delivery for your order, arrange delivery directly with the merchant.
Payments
Commversar processes payments for your purchases made through the platform. See our Buyer Protection Policy for how your payment is held in escrow and when you're protected.
Delivery
We handle delivery for our own listed products, and for merchants who have opted into our delivery service. For all other orders, arrange delivery directly with the merchant. See our Shipping and Returns Policy for shipping costs and timing. We recommend:
- •Meeting in safe, public locations for merchant-arranged delivery.
- •Inspecting items before confirming receipt.
Community Standards
We maintain a healthy, trustworthy community. If a merchant does any of the following, use the "Report" option:
- •Lists illegal items or services
- •Posts false or misleading information
- •Impersonates another person or business
- •Harasses or threatens you
- •Manipulates reviews or ratings
- •Spams or posts excessively
We review all reports and take appropriate action, including removing listings and warning or suspending merchants.
Reporting is for platform trust and safety issues like these. For order-specific problems — like a merchant not honoring a return or agreed refund terms — see our Buyer Protection Policy for how to request intervention.
Account Management
- •Provide accurate information when registering.
- •Maintain account security and notify us of unauthorized access.
To request deletion of your account, see our Privacy Policy, Section 7 (Your Rights) .
Content and Intellectual Property
- •You retain ownership of content you post.
- •By posting, you grant us a license to display it on our platform.
- •Do not post content that infringes on others' rights.
Our Liability
Commversar is NOT liable for:
- •The quality, safety, legality, or accuracy of listings
- •The conduct of merchants
- •Loss, damage, or disputes arising from a transaction, except where caused by our own payment processing or delivery service

You use Commversar at your own risk. We encourage all buyers to resolve any disputes amicably through direct communication with the merchant.
Data Protection
Your privacy is important. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we handle your information in accordance with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.
Platform Rights
We reserve the right to:
- •Suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
- •Remove listings that violate our policies.
- •Refuse service when necessary.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use means you accept the new terms.
