What Changed — Effective August 16, 2026
Here's what changed and why.
- 1.This policy now covers buyers only. Merchant registration, listing, and account management are now governed by a separate Merchant Terms of Use on the merchant platform. These Terms now describe Commversar from a buyer's perspective.
- 2.Commversar now processes payments. Previously, Commversar did not handle payments and buyers arranged payment directly with merchants. We now process payments for purchases made through the platform — see our new Buyer Protection Policy for how that payment is held and protected.
- 3.Commversar now delivers for merchants who opt in. For merchants who have opted into our delivery service, Commversar handles delivery. For all other orders, delivery is still arranged directly between the buyer and the merchant.
- 4.Delivery now also covers Commversar's own listed products. Previously, we only handled delivery for merchants who opted in. We now also handle delivery for products we list ourselves.
- 5.Merchant verification is now mandatory and done in person. Previously, verification was optional and done by uploading a Student ID or National ID. Every merchant is now verified in person before they can list anything.
- 6."Verified" badges have been removed. We no longer display a "verified" badge for merchants. The only badge shown on the platform is the Official Store badge, reserved for our official stores.
- 7.Registration required to purchase. Browsing still requires no account. Making a purchase now requires registration.
- 8.Account deletion instructions corrected, and moved to one place. The old terms pointed to an "Account Center" deletion option that doesn't exist yet. Rather than repeating deletion instructions in two places, this section now refers you to the Privacy Policy , which also covers how long we keep your data after you request deletion.
- 9.Liability section updated. Our liability disclaimer has been narrowed to reflect that Commversar now processes payments and, for opted-in merchants, handles delivery — so we no longer disclaim responsibility in those two areas specifically. It now points to the Buyer Protection Policy and Shipping and Returns Policy for what protection applies instead.
- 10.Rewritten in direct, second-person language. Sections that used to describe "Buyer Responsibility" in the third person (as if someone else were reading) now speak to you directly — no more "buyers should," just "you should."
- 11."Flag" renamed to "Report." The option for flagging an issue with a merchant or listing is now called "Report" throughout, matching the actual feature name.
- 12.Prohibited activities reframed as reportable merchant conduct. The old "Prohibited Activities" list is now framed around what you can report a merchant for — listing illegal items, posting false information, impersonation, harassment, review manipulation, and spam. It also now notes the difference between reporting (trust and safety) and requesting intervention on an order (covered by the Buyer Protection Policy ).
- 13.Contact Us is no longer a numbered section. It's now a closing line rather than its own clause, since it's contact information rather than a term you're agreeing to.
- 14.New: links out to our other buyer policies. These Terms now point to the Buyer Protection Policy, Refunds Policy, Shipping and Returns Policy, and Privacy Policy wherever they cover something in more detail, instead of repeating that detail here.
- 15.Updated dates. Effective Date and Last Updated are now August 16, 2026.
